Since 2007, CHC has sustained an on-site, staffed research department and has completed two National Institute of Health-R01 studies. Based on its history, CHC\u2019s research department and collaborators have expertise in mixed method, interdisciplinary and practice-based approaches to community-responsive research.<\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #555555;\">CHC\u2019s Research Model:<\/span><\/h2><ul><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Research topics align with CHC\u2019s mission and vision;<\/li><li>Research topics emerge from observations, questions, concerns, and trends identified by CHC\u2019s staff, patients, providers and community;<\/li><li>All research projects are reviewed by an internal grants committee and by Caring Health Center\u2019s 51% consumer-led board of directors to ensure agency and patient buy-in and support of the health center.<\/li><li>As with all CHC staffing, research teams aim to reflect the patients and populations served;<\/li><li>Research projects respect patients\u2019 general privacy, autonomy, medical confidentiality, and overall well-being;<\/li><li>Findings result in <b>A<\/b>ction-oriented, <b>C<\/b>ulturally appropriate, <b>T<\/b>ranslational, <b>S<\/b>ustainable <b>(ACTS)<\/b> practice improvements, interventions, policy, and dissemination.<\/li><li>Existing research aims to inform ACTS as well as next steps in research and public health programming.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t emphasized that, \u201ckey aims of the RPH department\u2019s work are to address individual and systems-level factors to reduce health disparities and to ensure the delivery of culturally and linguistically appropriate services.\u201d To address these barriers to care, the RPH department is focused primarily on social determinants of health, population health, and health equity as they
